Crypt is a relatively untouched area. This is probably due to the fact that over the last decade the main lake has rarely frozen over like it once did. The long approach from the east side of the lake also makes things a bit of a chore for a day trip. Consider a weekend trip camping just above burnt rock falls.
The main climbs here are located along the headwall just below Crypt lake. Here 4 main routes usually form. A number of single pitch routes also abound near burnt rock falls, the short free standing pillar half way up the valley. A number of multi-pitch unclimbed routes also abound on the south side of the valley, on the north side of Boswell.
