This is the location of the popular summer sport climbing area. The northen exposure, lack of sun, and consequent cold temperature make this a good destination for ice. There is a surprisingly large mixed potential here that is basically untapped. In good years, numerous half formed pillars weep down over large roofs and slight overhangs. The most popular climb here is the Gasser. It should be visible from the gate on the road. There is some avalanche danger from the large bowl above, but usually only in heavy snow years. In spring, the slopes to the left of the approach often slide.

From Lethbridge drive to Spring Coulee, then take highway 505 past St. Mary’s Dam until you come to a T intersection.  Turn left towards Cardston, and then right at a small gas station.  This put you back on highway 505 taking you past Hillspring and eventually to highway 6.  Turn left toward Waterton, and in about 1km, turn right onto the Shell Waterton Road.  At the plant turn left onto a dirt road that climbs a hill.  As you descend the hill, turn left in front of an artificial lake.  Continue straight until you reach a gate.  A large cave should be visible in the cliff bands on the south side of the valley.  This is where all the climbing is located.
