Waterton 2004
Ice Season Opener

Saturday, December 11th is the 5th annual ice opener. Ropes will start going up at 10:00am at Quick and Dirty. This is an informal get together of climbers. Rock Gear Inc. will be coming to demo a variety of ice tools and crampons. These will also be for sale at huge discounts, so bring your checkbook for some good deals. We will also have BBQ burgers at the base. Bring a loonie of two to help offset the costs.

New climbers are welcome. If you don't have tools, bring out an old pair of ski boots. These usually mate with at least one model of crampons. With 4 or 5 tope ropes set up, there are usually more than enough tools to go around. Climbs range in difficulty form W3 to W5+.

To get to the climbs, drive up the Akamina/Cameron highway near the Waterton Townsite. The climbs are clearly visible about 300m east of the road, 4km or 5km up the road.
